Bundled tablet solutions

These are pre-packaged sets that include a tablet, accessories and software, typically sold as a kit from a single vendor. These bundles often include:

• The tablet itself
• Mounting hardware (vehicle or stationary)
• Barcode scanners or RFID modules
• Charging docks or battery accessories
• Management software pre-installed
• MDM (Mobile Device Management) tools with monthly service fees
• Support/warranty services

But in practice, they come with limitations:

• Lack of flexibility: You’re stuck with their hardware/software choices, even if they don’t align with your systems.
• Overbuilt or underbuilt: You might pay for tools your team doesn’t use—or miss the features they actually need.
• Poor long-term fit:Bundles often can’t adapt to new workflows, integrations, or environments.
• Total cost bloat: What seems affordable up front may lead to higher costs over time due to upgrades, replacements, or workarounds.
